Interview and jezyki / wywiad i jeżyki

I had an interview with Mihoe Sano, who is a free writer. She is a fan of Poland! On Fat Thursday event, she made over 150 polish donuts!!

I was happy to talk with her and I have got a present, souvenir from Poland. It was cookies called “Jeżyki”. Now the funny part comes in. Polish language is difficult, so words “jeżyk” and “język” seems very alike. But meaning of first one is “hedgehog” and the other “tongue”. Cookies name “Hedgehogs” comes from the way they look – like little hedgehogs! While calling them tongues made it quite surprising for European citizen!

Breaking the barriers of new language is always difficult and sometimes funny. I hope I can meet Mihoe Sano in Poland next time!

Miałam wywiad z Mihoe Sano, która jest free writerem. Jest wielką fanką Polski! W tłusty czwartek przygotowała ponad 150 pączków!!

Bardzo miło mi się z nią rozmawiało, a także dostałam prezent z Polski. Były to ciasteczka “Jeżyki”. Oczywiście, język polski jest trudny i łatwo jest pomylić słowa “jeżyk” i “język”. “Jeżyki” nazywają się tak z powodu ich wyglądu. W przeciwieństwie do krajów Azjatyckich, Polacy rzadko jedzą języki, więc bardzo się uśmiałam!

Nauka nowego języka (ha) jest bardzo trudna, ale czasami pełna śmiechu. Mam nadzieję, że z Mihoe Sano będę mogła spotkać się znowu, tym razem w Polsce!
